Embattled B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell is stepping down, saying after “considerable soul-searching” he has concluded his personal unpopularity has overshadowed the needs of the province to foster the economy.

At a news conference in Vancouver on Wednesday morning, he said he has asked the B.C. Liberal party to call a leadership convention as quickly as possible “to return public attention to what is important in British Columbia.

U.S. President Barack Obama said the results of the midterm elections reveal that Americans do not believe enough progress has been made on the economy and that he must take responsibility for that.

Speaking to reporters in a news conference a day after Democrats lost control of the House of Representatives, Obama stressed that some progress has been made in the economy but that people across America aren’t feeling that progress.

“And they told us that yesterday,” he said. ”I’ve got to take direct responsibility for the fact that we have not made as much progress as we need to make,” Obama said.

Randy Moss, who was waived by the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday, may have alienated some teammates when he was roundly critical of a post-practice meal in front of the local restaurant owners who catered it, Yahoo! Sports reported.

Every Friday, the Vikings invite a local establishment to cater the team’s post-practice meal. Last Friday, it was a St. Paul, Minn., restaurant — a favorite of former Vikings center Matt Birk — that served chicken, pasta, ribs and other dishes.

Moss yelled “What the [expletive]? Who ordered this crap? I wouldn’t feed this to my dog,” a player who witnessed the incident said, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Matt's NFL Draft mock Draft

My top ten picks of the NFL 2010 Mock draft. The draft is this Thursday on prime time!

1) QB Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) - St. Louis Rams

Not a surprise here as the Rams finally get their franchise quarterback. After passing on Matt Ryan a few years ago, they won’t make the same mistake again. Also, releasing Marc Bulger in the off season is a pretty firm statement. Build your team with a franchise QB and not with Howie Long’s son.

2) DT Ndamukong Suh (Nebraska) - Detroit Lions

Based on the moves from the Lions by getting Sims from Seattle, I don’t see them investing heavily on a LT like Okung to protect Stafford. I think Backus will maintain his position of protecting Stafford’s blindside. Haynesworth played an instrumental role for the Titans defense in Jim Schwartz’s defense. I think they are looking for the same impact from Suh.

3) DT Gerald McCoy (Oklahoma) -Tampa Bay

Tampa is looking for a Warren Sapp clone. This guy is a stud and should fit in nicely. McCoy and Suh are studs.

4) OT Russell Okung - (Oklahoma State) Washington

Getting McNabb in the offseason ended the speculation of a QB in this slot. Looks like they will get the best OT of the draft. Okung will most likely be a Pro Bowl tackle for years to come. Samuels retired and the offensive line is very week in Washington.

5) OT Bryan Bulaga (Iowa) Kansas City

Kansas City needs to protect their investment of Matt Cassel and Bulaga would be it. I think this is the wrong pick as Kansas City needs secondary help especially at the safeties. Berry is a play maker and a ball hawking safety. My inclination says they pick Bulaga who has small arms who could eventually end up a guard.

6) OT Trent Williams (Oklahoma) - Seattle Seahawks

The heir apparent to Walter Jones. Williams’ stock has risen significantly from the combine. Best tackle after Okung.

7) S Eric Berry (Tennessee) - Cleveland Browns

The right pick would be QB Jimmy Clausen but Holmgren never picks a QB in the first round. Cleveland needs help in the secondary so I guess this guy would be it. Playmaker and ball hawking safety.

8) OT Bruce Campbell (Marlyand) - Oakland Raiders

Al Davis wants, he gets! Campbell is an athletic freak which is Al Davis loves. I think Oakland should trade Jamarcus for a bag of footballs. But that’s just my opinion.

9) QB Jimmy Clausen (Notre Dame) - Buffalo Bills

The Bills have a lot of needs! They need an OT to replace Jason Peters which they traded to the Eagles. They would take Bulaga if he was still there. But I think the new regime will want a franchise QB. GM Nix said he’s looking for a strong-armed quarterback to combat the Orchard Park winds, so Clausen fits that description. Clausen is the most pro ready QB in this draft.

10) Jason Pierre Paul - (South Florida) Jags

Finished last in the NFL for QB sacks. They just signed Kampmen to help them on the defensive line. McClain is the best LB in the draft but I think they still need pass rushing help as Kampmen isn’t the long term solution. I think the Jags will make a play for Tebow but won’t take him at 10.
